Message from Hatch Beauchamp Community Shop Ltd

Unfortunately, as a Community Benefit Society, Hatch Beauchamp Community Shop Ltd are unable to come to a lease agreement at Perris that would work for all parties involved. Brian and Sally are to continue with the plans for a shop and cafe however, and we wish them the best of luck.

A358

At the next Parish Council meeting on November 8th, at 7pm there will be a vote to ratify the Parish Council position to be put to National Highways. A copy of the current draft can be downloaded from here (its the last item in the table, with a red header row). We are also expecting Rebecca Pow or her representative to attend and explain our MP's latest view on the plans.

Bench

We would like to thank James Marks and Weavo for kindly donating the wood and carrying out the repairs to the bench by the bus shelter opposite the Hatch Inn. Not only was this very quickly after the problem was noted, it was done free of charge to the community.

Bus trial

The 10C bus trial finished last month. There will be a report at the parish council meeting, but in the meantime here are two options for those without access to transport of their own:

  • Slinky Bus: (runs to Taunton on demand Tuesdays and Fridays). For more information and to register, go to https://www.somerset.gov.uk/roads-travel-and-parking/slinky-services/

  • Hatch Community Car Scheme: open to all who register as members (currently more than 100!). Call 07942 321145. You can go anywhere that one of our drivers is prepared to take you
