The National Highways A358 Taunton to Southfields dualling scheme, for which the preferred route was announced in 2019, was cancelled in October 2024 following much local criticism of the plan and the government’s new spending priorities.
It is likely that a new proposal will come forward in the years to come – local people will be on the alert for this and we will update this page with details when the time comes.
