Hatch Amateur Theatre Society (HATS)

Hatch Beauchamp’s theatre group was born in 2008. A short play written by a local playwright and performed by guests at a village supper, set the ball rolling and we haven’t looked back. Since then a variety of three act, one act and short plays by well-known playwrights such as Alan Ayckbourn and Michael Frayn, and by local writers like Richard Harris and Rod Hancox have been performed. Our productions have been staged in the village hall with many memorable summer shows, such as our Murder Mystery Evening, in the garden of Oakfield House. Over the last six years we have presented three highly successful pantos for the Christmas season to the delight of villagers far and wide. (See below Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood, December 2024). Variety and music are an important element in our entertainment.

We get involved with other village social activities and have become a well-established part of village life. New members are extremely welcome – previous acting experience is not necessary – just enthusiasm! We are constantly seeking not only actors, but also anyone with music, dance or artistic talents. Likewise, our very important backstage crew will welcome those with practical skills. There’s always a need for help with the bar or catering.

We have a lot of fun – why not come along and join us? For more information, please call Imogen Graham on 01823 480088 or email imogen.graham00@gmail.com
