Parish Council – December Report

At our Parish Council meeting in November, we discussed progress with our Emergency Plan and the best way to capture and keep photos of flooding issues in and around the village, so we can identify locations where flooding occurs. We can then work on planning to reduce flooding in these areas.

Following the results of the village survey which endorsed the purchase and use of a Speed Indicator Device (SID) to help to reduce speeding in the village, we will proceed with obtaining this device and confirm the locations in the village where these will be used.  We will discuss possibly extending the existing speed limits in the village at our next meeting in January.

We will be discussing the Parish Council’s budget for next year at our January meeting, and if you have any ideas of village projects you would like us to support, please contact Helen Chadwick, our Clerk. At our January meeting we will also be discussing the Role of the Parish Council and future engagement with residents. Please come along to our meeting in the Village Hall at 19:00 on Wednesday 14 January and share your views.

Somerset Council’s footpath warden has met with our PPLO David Graham, to investigate issues with our local footpaths, including lack of signage, faulty crossings and lack of maintaining footpaths through crops.

With best wishes for a very peaceful and happy Christmas with friends and family, see you in January.
