From October, the village website will move from the current ‘WIX’ platform to a host that is more directly under control of the Parish Council (and Village Hall). The associated costs will also be cut in half.
Better control will mean that more features will be available, such as easier maintenance of mailing lists and more consistent distribution of news and information.
What this kind of technical innovation will not address is the editorial quality of content. Users and organisations will need to commit to keeping articles up to date, although on the new platform help to do this will be more readily available.
All changes for website launch will need to be done by 15th September
