We held our Annual Parish Meeting on Wednesday 6 May in conjunction with the Village Hall Trustees. The Annual meeting gives us the opportunity to give you progress on the projects your council has been working on during the year and our plans for the coming year, and for residents to ask questions. We enjoyed an interesting evening with updates from the Parish Council, the Village Hall and representatives of various organisations including our Cricket club, our Parish church, our Community Car Scheme and HATS/Boule club.
The Neighbourhood Plan has now completed its formal review by the Independent inspector and the referendum will be held on Thursday 25 June which will give our local community a chance to vote on our plan. Please visit hatchbeauchamp.com/neighbourhood-plan to view our Plan and supporting documents. Our plan has come out of local consultation, and it will ensure that in future extra money from infrastructure levies from new developments will come directly to our parish. Somerset Council is managing the referendum process, copied below is their information on it:
Electronic Copies: Neighbourhood Plan page of the Somerset Council website for Hatch Beauchamp Neighbourhood Plan and procedural matters for the referendum can be found at Electoral Services
Paper Copy of the referendum documents is available to view at The Deane House Reception, Belvedere Road, Taunton, TA1 1HE.
We held our Spring Village Tidy on Saturday 2 May. A group of residents worked on a number of projects. The Village Hall is now beautifully clean on the outside including sparkling windows, We’ve started painting the railings around the War Memorial and the Noticeboard. We also weeded and litter picked. Thank you to all those, young and old who gave up their Saturday morning to help out, luckily before the rain appeared.
Greener Hatch Beauchamp will be holding their next repair café on Saturday 27 June in our Village Hall, you can extend the life of your beloved bits and pieces by bringing them along and enjoying drinks and cakes too.
